NOSE: Grassy, haylofts and very oily. Hints of varnish, raisins, dried orange peel and marzipan.
PALATE: Big rum, some ginger powder, kiwi fruits, brown bread toast with salted butter. Lychee, popping candy and lemon juice.
FINISH: Faint tropical fruits, giving way to more grassy and herbal notes before oily notes take over.
London Tasting Panel (LTP) 49.9% Vol Uitvlugt
Nose: What is that? Its fruity yes but its rather like those complicated noses we got from Port Ellen (just forget the smoke and peat)
Its heavy and almost fresh cut grass or is that sap in the background, old books and old style marmalade, still lemonade with a hint of crushed basil (This one is causing the panel a lot of trouble but in a good way)
The palate is everything its Rum at its finest with a lot of sweet fruits and summer fairground tastes like candy floss and toffee apples, fresh baked french brooch.
The finish is as amazing as the mid notes with a long finish.
Possibly the most complicated Rum between nose and palate, very enjoyable indeed unlike anything else we have tried tonight.
