Established 1826 as Lyne of Ruthie, the original site was destroyed by flood water around 1929 so construction of the new distillery started a few kilometres away by John Innes.
The distillery was again destroyed some years later in 1896 by a fire so another re-build takes place until 1956 when the site was completely rebuilt once more but this time to maker it bigger and more efficient.
NOSE: Buttered raisin toast, barley water, watermelon.
PALATE: Green apples, cucumber water, rhubarb.
FINISH: Dried herbs, tinned pineapple, honey and lemon.
London Tasting Panel (LTP): Very drinkable rich fruity classic Speyside whisky one that should suit most palates for those who want a simply good honest smooth dram. Soft vanilla and lemon with tropical fruits nice long smooth finish.
