The new 2018 batch has a more fruity nose than before with the most incredible palate.
NOSE: Starts off with some rich oak notes that are dominant but balanced, followed by toasted marshmallows and dried fruit pudding, as well as cherries, marzipan and a hint of peat
PALATE: Begins initially fruity with citrus notes and orange peel, after this: vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb and digestive biscuits can all be tasted and enjoyed, with an addition fruitiness rather like a good sherry cask is lurking in the background to add to the complexity of this fine malt.
FINISH: Here we are at the finish with a velvet and smoothness that coats the finish with lemon meringue, to conclude, there’s an oiliness and a saltiness that you’d expect from a Campbeltown dram.
