PORT DUNDAS 1988 30 YEARS OLD 51.3%VOL - 70CL - SINGLE CASK
Closed Distillery from Glasgow.
NOSE: Thick, rich and oily. Rapeseed oil, grapes, avacados and hints of pork scratchings and gingerbeer.
PALATE: Golden syrup, melted butter on wholemeal toast. Rye bread, sweetcorn and apple sauce.
FINISH: Brandy snaps, poppy seeds, watermelon and grated ginger.
LTP: Blind tasting on this has proven to be one of the most interesting of the new 2019 releases, because we had it blind a few thought it was a sherry cask due to the sublime rich fruity notes, one of the panel thought it was strawberry and plums, soft nutty tones with creamy vanilla richness.
Would we recommend this ? Oh yes most definitely.
An old school whisky that will be hard to beat in the coming years.
