INCHGOWER 9 YEARS OLD 2009 56.5% - 70CL - SPEYSIDE SHERRY SMALL BATCH 582 BOTTLES IN THE WORLD
This distillery was founded in 1871, the building of a distillery can take time if you need all new equipment with some luck and a good opportunity came up for the distillery to use equipment from the closed Tochineal distillery.
This is a Sherry cask matured bottling made up from 2 Sherry hogsheads. A rather good dram for this time of the year if you are looking for a full bodied sherry cask or as a gift for the holiday season this dram will give you all the taste that you need.
NOSE: Raisins, digestive biscuit, parma Ham.
PALATE: Blackcurrant syrup, plum jam, stewed fruits.
FINISH: Hints of peppermint and green tea. Quite chewy.
(LTP) London Tasting Panel
What a great dram deep dark fruity complexity for sure but the nose and palate keep changing growing if you like.
The fruity taste is balanced by a spice nose that brings you down to earth before a dark chocolate and blackcurrant jam mix deliver the most incredible tastes.
Yes its young but also very enjoyable thanks to a rich layering effect from the casks.
