SPRINGBANK CV
Springbank CV is the product of a variety of different cask types and sizes, all specially selected by Director of Production Frank
McHardy and Distillery Manager Stuart Robertson. Frank and Stuartʼs years of experience allowed them to choose a range of
casks, every one complementing the other to ensure a great whisky with lots of flavour and the classic Springbank Style.
Palate: Subtle sherry notes come through
along with a depth of oak and spice. These then evolve into notes reminiscent of our traditional Dunnage warehouses.
Finish: The flavours remaining are mainly coming from the sherry casks, although right at the end a hint of port tannins can be detected, perhaps suggesting the pedigree of casks used for the Springbank CV.

To all those who attended the release of the new Hazelburn 12 year old on Wednesday, thank you, it was a roaring success! The long awaited new release has not disappointed, the normally light and breezy whisky has been given a bit of a make over – still unpeated and triple distilled, the Hazelburn 12 year old was matured in mainly Sherry casks. Making this whisky very full bodied and deliciously unctuous, with spicy notes and caramelised orange peal dipped in chocolate on the palate.
Hazelburn 12 will be in store from August, and if some missed the opportunity the taste the new offering from Springbank, don’t despair as we have some available to taste.
Talk about tastings, I am sorry to announce that our Rum tasting taking place on Thursday 30 July has now been full booked. For future tastings at the Whisky Shop, please keep an eye on the website.
The next tasting evening will be Thursday 27 August, join us for a ‘Trip Around Scotland’.
